The return of Dušan Švento

Slavia announced new signing which also means great return of one of the fan’s most beloved recent players. Slovakian universal Dušan Švento signed two-years contract (till the end of June 2018) with the sewn-ones.
“I have always said that Slavia is the club I would like to return to and that it is also the only Czech club I would like to join. Now the time has come. I have some great memories of playing in the club, one of the best in my career, and I hope that together we will follow up with similar achievements,” Švento said after the signing.

30-years-old Švento is firmly connected to the former successes of Slavia Prague and with champion’s seasons 2008 and 2009. He played 82 games in red-and-white jersey and scored six goals. After he had left Slavia in 2009 he successfully continued in Red Bull Salzburg with three Austrian league titles, two Austrian cups and two Supercups. In 2014 he left for German Bundesliga site 1.FC Köln. He has 39 caps in Slovakian national team and is member of Slovakia squad for EURO 2016 in France.

Slavia drew 0–0 with Athletic Bilbao in the 5th round of the Champions League league phase. Jindřich Staněk delivered an exceptional performance, denying the Basque club four clear goal-scoring opportunities. After five matches, the Red-Whites have three points from three draws.

Slavia defeated Bohemians in front of 18,992 spectators at Fortuna Arena and continue to lead the Chance Liga table. The Vršovice derby was decided in the first half, with goals from Tomáš Chorý and Štěpán Chaloupek (the latter deflected in by Okeke). In the second half, Lukáš Provod scored a stunning strike, while Zeman pulled one back for the visitors.
