Taras Kacharaba transfers to Dunajská Streda

After three years, Ukrainian defender Taras Kacharaba is leaving Slavia to join Dunajská Streda, currently the sixth-placed team in the Slovak Niké League.

Kacharaba moved to Eden in January 2021 from Liberec on a six-month loan with an option for a permanent transfer. "Slavia is the best club in the Czech Republic, with big ambitions. My goal is to help the team, and I also want to delight the fans with my performances. I would like to help the club achieve further trophies," said the native of the western Ukrainian city of Zhydachiv at the time.

His wish came true; at the end of the 2020/21 season, he celebrated winning the league title and the domestic cup with Slavia. In December 2021, thanks to his reliable performances, he became a permanent player for Slavia.

He experienced challenging moments in the red and white jersey, suffering a facial fracture in a home match of the Europa Conference League against Union Berlin, as well as extremely emotional moments. On the day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he led Slavia into a match against Fenerbahce Istanbul as captain.

In May of the past year, he celebrated his second victory in the MOL Cup with his teammates at Letná. In total, he played 78 games for Slavia and scored two goals, the first on August 29, 2021, in Karviná in a 3-3 draw, and the second a year later in a 6-0 home win against Teplice.

He last wore the red and white jersey in a preparatory match against Bejing Guoan during the January training camp in Portugal.
