Star History | Czech FA Cup triumphs
Slavia managed to win the Czech FA Cup (under different names based on sponsoring company) five times since 1990. For the first time in 1996/97 season when the red and whites won 1-0 over Dukla Prague after extra time (Karel Vácha scored the golden goal in 101st minute). Slavia lifted the Czech Cup after 23 years, last time they won the competition (Czech Cup, not the federal Czechoslovak Cup) in 1974 with the team around legendary captain František Veselý.

Only three years later Slavia lifted the Cup again. In 1999 the final game against Slovan Liberec ended in an extra time again after goalless 90 minutes and the team under manager Jaroslav Hřebík won 1-0 thanks to golden goal by Pavel Horváth in 97th minute.

Three years later - in 2002 - Slavia progressed to the Czech FA Cup final again and this time the red and whites faced their arch enemy Sparta Prague (Slavia were nicknamed “forever second” at that time as they finished second several times just behind Sparta). The 2001/02 cup final became at least small revenge as our forward Tomáš Došek scored twice against young Petr Čech in Sparta goal and Slavia won 2-1.

But the club had to wait 16 years for the next cup triumph. As ruling league champions Slavia eliminated Třinec, Jihlava, Liberec and Mladá Boleslav in 2017/18 season and defeated FK Jablonec 3-1 in the final. It was the first trophy for new manager Jindřich Trpišovský who took over in winter after Jaroslav Šilhavý. Striker Stanislav Tecl became man of the match with two goals, midfielder Miroslav Stoch added third.

Slavia repeated their triumph a year later, in 2018/19, and completed double with league victory after 77 years. At andrův stadium in Olomouc Slavia faced strong Baník Ostrava in the cup final and managed to win 2-0 thanks to Souček’s penalty and Masopust’s second goal.
