Slavia will face Sevilla FC in UEL Round of 16

The red-whites will play against Sevilla FC in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16. First game will be played away on 7 March 2019, 2nd leg home in Prague a week later.
Sevilla is one of the most successful clubs of Europa League winning the competition three times in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2006 and 2007 the club won UEFA Cup as the current competition’s predecessor. Also, the UEFA Super Cup bears Sevilla’s name after their triumph from 2007. Recently Sevilla won the Spanish cup Copa del Rey in 2006 and 2010. Slavia have already met with Sevilla FC in 2007/08 UEFA Champions League Group stage. The red-whites couldn’t seize a single point from the 2 games losing 2-4 away and 0-3 home in the last game of the group.
Sevilla FC travelled to the Czech Republic already once this season for Europa League Play-off against Sigma Olomouc (winning 1-0 in Olomouc and later 3-0 home). Finishing 7th in the 2017/18 La Liga Sevilla had to play 3 qualification rounds for Europa League eliminating Újpest FC from Hungary and Zalgiris from Lithuania before Sigma.
In the Group J together with Krasnodar, Standard de Liege and Ahisar Sevilla finished on top with 4 wins and 2 defeats (away to Krasnodar and Liege). In the Round of 32 they eliminated Lazio with 1-0 victory away and 2-0 at home.
