Slavia met Maccabi twice in Group A of 2017/18 UEFA Europa League. The red and whites won the opening game of the group 1-0 home thanks to Tomáš Necid goal, Josef Hušbauer then scored twice away to secure the 2-0 win for Slavia. His first stunner from behind the box has been voted the best Czech goal of 2017. Slavia lost their last game to Astana, finished 3^rd and were eliminated. Maccabi finished 4^th.
