Slavia players on national duty

Overall ten players from the first team can play for their national teams during upcoming EURO and World Cup qualifiers.
Former Slavia manager Jaroslav Šilhavý chose 8 players from our first team to be part of Czech squad for upcoming home game against England (Sinobo Stadium, Prague) and friendly against Northern Ireland (Letná, Prague). On the list are Jan Bořil, Vladimír Coufal, Ondřej Kúdela, Josef Hušbauer, Tomáš Souček, Lukáš Masopust and goalkeeper Ondřej Kolář who can make his first cap in Czech first team.

Centre-back David Hovorka who was originally part of the squad will not join the national team and will stay with Slavia to recover from his knee injury.

Three Slavia players are among backups ready to replace someone in case of injury – Tomáš Holeš, Milan Škoda and Jan Matoušek (currently on loan to Jablonec). Matoušek is also part of Czech U21 team for EURO qualifiers against Greece and Scotland.

Czech U19 play their qualification tournament home in the Czech Republic (Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek). Part of the squad are goalkeeper Jakub Markovič (who already made two caps for Slavia first team), Daniel Kosek, Michal Hošek, Lukáš Červ, Matěj Vít and Jakub Zeronik.

Slavia players will be in action not only for Czech national team. Peter Olayinka who scored 5 goals this season got his first invitation for Nigerian national team and will be part of the squad in a friendly game against Brazil.

Yusuf Hilal is in the Bahrain squad for friendly against Azerbaijan and World Cup qualifier against Iran. Nicolae Stanciu could play for Romania (qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Norway). Slavia reserves winger Farid Nabiyev will join Azerbaijan U21 for EURO qualifiers, goalkeeper Martin Vantruba (currently on loan to Pohronie) can start for Slovakia U21 team.
