Petar Musa leaving on loan to Union Berlin

Croatian forward Petar Musa will spend rest of the season on loan to Bundesliga club Union Berlin.

Union Berlin currently sit 8th in German Bundesliga table. Petar Musa, who should be part of Croatia U21 national team on the EURO in the summer joins the side for half a year with no option for permanent transfer.

“Petar wanted to try the Bundesliga and after a discussion with him, we decided to let him join Union. The club guaranteed us certain number of games in which Petar will start. It will be a big experience for him,” said Slavia manager Jindřich Trpišovský.

“It is a great challenge for me, I really wanted to try to play in the Bundesliga. It is important for me to play regularly before the U21 EURO,” Musa said.

“I will try to do my best, as I did in Slavia. Last year in red and white was the best in my career, the lads are fantastic here. Even when I did not play, I felt great because the company here was the best in my football life. There are many good players in Slavia, even those who do not start regularly. Jan Kuchta is playing great currently, he scores many goals, and I wish him only the best, we are friends,” Musa added.

Petar Musa was born on 4 March 1998. He joined Slavia from NK Zagreb in the age of 17 and spent his first two seasons on loan to Viktoria Žižkov in second Czech division. Since January 2019 he played on loan to Slovan Liberec. Since his return to Slavia he scored 7 goals in 14 spring games of 2019/20 season, became the top league goalscorer and became Czech champion.

This season Musa made his debut in European cups, he started to both games of the UCL Play-off and to 4 games in the UEL Group Stage. In 14 league games he scored 4 goals.
