Petar Musa becomes Czech league top scorer

With 14 goals Petar Musa became the joint top scorer of the Czech top division. He is the youngest league top scorer in Czech history.

Croatian forward joined Slavia in winter from Slovan Liberec where he spent the first half of the season on loan. In Slovan, Musa scored 6 goals, in the second half of 2019/20 he added 8 more in red and white. It was his first complete season in Czech first league.

Musa’s goals were extremely important for Slavia on their way to defend the Czech title. He scored winning goals against Opava and Příbram, his late header equalized Prague Derby against Sparta and with two goals he helped to defeat Jablonec in the Champions Group.

Petar Musa is the second Slavia player who managed to win the top scorer’s crown in Czech League Milan Škoda was the first one with 15 goals in 2016/17. In the age of 22 years and 4 months Musa is the youngest player in the history of Czech top division who became the top scorer. He has also been voted the best forward of 2019/20 Czech FORTUNA:LIGA.

“I am really happy, because I worked hard and it payed off. Of course, it is a big success to become the league top scorer, but the title means much more for me. I am happy that my goals could help Liberec to reach the Europa League qualifiers and brought some points to Slavia in our fight for the title. I will keep working so that we would be more successful. Both I and the club,” Musa said.
