One loss and one win. Third week of mid-season preparation

PRAGUE/UMT EDEN – The third week of mid-season preparation is almost over and Slavia is getting ready for the training camp in Spain. The red-whites have suffered their first loss against Ústí nad Labem on Wednesday. The 5-1 win in the Friday match against Vyšehrad was a last goodbye to the snowy Prague.
Slavia Ústí 0-2 (0-1)

Slavia wanted to play the friendlies on natural grass in Nymburk, but once again the harsh weather conditions caused that all games were played on the artificial grass in Eden. Milan Škoda joined the squad for the first time in 2016 but not even the superb striker could deflect the 0-2 loss against Ústí nad Labem. “The players are exhausted from the demanding programme but that is not an apology for the result. The players lack aggressiveness and we will discuss the goals we didn’t score and the ones that we conceded,” explained the head coach Dušan Uhrin.

Slavia – Vyšehrad 5-1 (3-0)

The Friday match against Vyšehrad was more exciting to watch. Škoda and Zmrhal showed why they are the offensive leaders of Slavia. Škoda opened the score in 14th minute after Mihálik’s great ball handling. Zmrhal’s cross from the left wing landed on Škoda’s head twenty minutes later and the thirty-year-old added his second goal. Slavia’s striker returned the favour three minutes later, when he set-up an opportunity for Zmrhal whose half-volley shot ended behind the goalkeeper’s back.

Miljan Vukadinovič caused a lot of trouble to Vyšehrad’s defence during the second half. The agile right winger set-up goals number 4 and 5. After his pass in 50th minute Bořil’s cross to the far post found Mešanovič. The Bosnian forward back-heeled the ball to Hušbauer who slotted home for 4-1. In 57th minute Vukadinovič and Bořil showed the spectators a witty collaboration and Bořil scored after Vukadinovič’s heel pass. Vyšehrad scored their only goal in 71st minute when Madej was the fastest one to get to the ball after a scrummage in the box.

The friendlies from Spain will be broadcasted live on Slavia TV. The dress rehearsal against Krasnodar should be broadcasted on ČT Sport.
