New striker for the Red-Whites!

Czech international and Fortuna Liga second best goal scorer on the last season Václav Jurečka signed contract with Slavia until June 2025.

27-year old striker scored 17 goals for 1.FC Slovácko last season and was second best goal scorer of the Czech Fortuna Liga. He also won the Czech MOL Cup.

Jurečka started his career in SFC Opava where he made his senior debut in 2012. After several loans in lower leagues, he returned to Opava and helped the club in reaching the first division in 2018. In winter 2020. He scored 7 goals during 2020/21 season, but his best year was yet to come. With 17 goals the next season he became second best goal scorer and helped Slovácko win the MOL Cup with a goal and an assist in the final game against Sparta.

This year Jurečka received his first call-up into the Czech national team. He made his debut against Wales on 29 March, on 2 June he played the final minutes against Switzerland during the 2-1 win in the UEFA Nations League.

He also has a university degree, he studied Urban Planning at the Technical University Ostrava.

In the 17th round of the Chance Liga, Slavia defeated Slovácko 3–0 at Eden. Mojmír Chytil scored twice, and Tomáš Chorý added a ruthless finish. Igoh Ogbu returned from injury, and academy product Tomáš Jelínek made his league debut as part of the starting line-up.

Slavia drew 0–0 with Athletic Bilbao in the 5th round of the Champions League league phase. Jindřich Staněk delivered an exceptional performance, denying the Basque club four clear goal-scoring opportunities. After five matches, the Red-Whites have three points from three draws.

Slavia defeated Bohemians in front of 18,992 spectators at Fortuna Arena and continue to lead the Chance Liga table. The Vršovice derby was decided in the first half, with goals from Tomáš Chorý and Štěpán Chaloupek (the latter deflected in by Okeke). In the second half, Lukáš Provod scored a stunning strike, while Zeman pulled one back for the visitors.
