Michal Frydrych moves to Wisla Krakow

Michal Frydrych leaves Slavia after 5 years as the longest serving player in the first team. He signed 3-year deal with Wisla Krakow.

Frydrych joined Slavia in September 2015 and made his debut against Sparta few days later. He scored his first goal in October 2020 against Brno. In 2016/17 he won his first silverware with Slavia when the red-whites won the Czech title after 9 years. Frydrych scored important winning goal against Plzeň in probably the most important game of the season. In 2017/18 he won the Czech FA Cup and got the double a year later. In his las season in red and white Frydrych started to 2 UEFA Champions League games (overall he played 20 games in European competitions for Slavia) and won the 20th Czech title for the club.

Michal Frydrych played 137 competitive games for Slavia, scored 20 goals, and added 7 assists. Fve ears ago, he joined the “newborn” Slavia which was almost relegated a year ago, now he is leaving the club which won 3 out of last 4 seasons of Czech top tier.

“When I joined Slavia, I wanted to achieve some success. But I could not even dream about winning three titles and playing the Champions League. I played many exciting games here, went through beautiful and emotional moments, and I will remember it forever. I will always wish Slavia the best of luck,” Frydrych said.

“I am leaving because I have belonged to the substitutes for some time. I miss playing games regularly and I miss emotions on the pitch when you fight for the team. I accepted my role here, I am gad I could be part of this club and all the teams which played here for the past five years,” 30-year old defender added.
