Michael Ngadeu joins KAA Gent

Cameroonian centre-back Michael Ngadeu is leaving Slavia for KAA Gent who activated his exit clause.
Ngadeu joined Slavia in 2016 from Romanian side Botosani an spent 3 years in red-white playing as centre-back and defensive midfielder. Together with Simon Deli they created one of the best centre-back pair in the modern era of Czech league.

28-year old Cameroonian international won two Czech titles with Slavia (2017 and 2019) and two Czech Cups (2018, 2019). In 112 competitive games he scored 9 goals and added 6 assists. In 2016/17 Ngadeu scored hattrick against Příbram and the very last goal of the season which secured Slavia victory over Brno and the campion’s title.

In February 2017 Ngadeu was part of Cameroon national team which won the Africa Cup of nations in Gabon. During his contract in Slavia Ngadeu became one of the key players not only in the club, but also in the national team and captained the Mighty Lions in several games of 2018 and 2019.

Slavia drew 0–0 with Athletic Bilbao in the 5th round of the Champions League league phase. Jindřich Staněk delivered an exceptional performance, denying the Basque club four clear goal-scoring opportunities. After five matches, the Red-Whites have three points from three draws.

Slavia defeated Bohemians in front of 18,992 spectators at Fortuna Arena and continue to lead the Chance Liga table. The Vršovice derby was decided in the first half, with goals from Tomáš Chorý and Štěpán Chaloupek (the latter deflected in by Okeke). In the second half, Lukáš Provod scored a stunning strike, while Zeman pulled one back for the visitors.
