Matěj Jurásek joins Norwich City

Czech winger Matěj Jurásek has transferred from Slavia Prague to English Championship side Norwich City. The 21-year-old, who represented the Czech Republic at UEFA Euro 2024, expressed his enthusiasm for the move.

"Something beautiful is ending, and something new is beginning. I´m very excited about this new challenge; I need to play and accumulate minutes. I believe Norwich will be a good destination and a great life experience."

Jurásek began his football journey at Karviná before joining Slavia Prague´s youth academy in 2018. He made his league debut at 17 in a match against Opava in November 2020. After loan spells at Vlašim and Karviná, he secured a regular spot in Slavia´s first team. In the 2022/23 season, he scored six goals and provided five assists in 21 league appearances. Notably, he netted twice in matches against Baník Ostrava and Jablonec.

Jurásek also made his mark in European competitions, scoring crucial goals, including a header against Zorya Luhansk that helped Slavia reach the UEFA Europa League group stage. He featured prominently in matches against AC Milan and Ludogorets Razgrad.

In the current season, Jurásek has played 14 top-flight matches, recording one goal and two assists. His final appearance for Slavia was in the autumn round of the Chance Liga against Teplice. Norwich City, currently 11th in the Championship, will be his new home as he embarks on this next chapter in his career.
