Maksym Taloverov joins Slavia

Ukrainian centre back signed five-year contract with the Red-Whites.

Maksym Taloverov was born in Donetsk on 18 June 2000 and spent 3 previous seasons in Dynamo České Budějovice in the Czech top division. He was raised in the academy of Shakhtar Donetsk, after 10 years there he also started for youth teams of Arsenal Kyiv and Olimpik Donetsk. In the age of 18 he left Ukraine and joined Dynamo České Budějovice, from 2019 he started playing for the U-21 team of the South-Bohemian club.

Spending half a season on loan in the Czech third tier he returned to Dynamo and made his senior debut in May 2020 against Bohemians. During the next season he appeared regularly in the starting XI and made 26 caps in the Czech Fortuna Liga. In March 2021 he received his first call-up for the Ukrainian U-21 team. This season, he is member of the U-21 national team fighting for the EURO final tournament.

This season Taloverov started to 14 league games playing 1,145 minutes. After Ruslan Rotan, Eduard Sobol and Taras Kacharaba, who signed 3-year deal with Slavia in December 2021, Taloverov will be fourth Ukrainian player who recently played for Slavia.

“I am proud to play for such team as Slavia. For me it is undoubtedly the best club in the country, and I am glad I could be here,” Taloverov said on his first day at Eden.

“I know Lukáš Provod and Ivan Schranz from when they played in Budějovice. They are good lads and I really liked them. I am looking forward to playing with them again. I am also looking forward for Slavia fans, it is one of the best things in this club. The more fans, the better I feel on the pitch. So, I hope the fans will help me too,” he added.
