Slavia first team together with U19 left for Milan to start their 2019/20 UEFA Champions League journey. First team will meet with Inter on Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro) on Tuesday at 6:55 pm. Slavia U19 will face the same opponent in UEFA Youth League earlier, on Tuesday at 2 pm.

Houštecký: This game can send us in the right direction

We are going to Milan to succeed. It is the first game which can send us in the right direction, and which can show us how do we stand. I believe in the team and I hope we will make good result,” assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký says.

“San Siro is a beautiful stadium, we have seen the last game against Udinese at the atmosphere there was great. But it’s the same with Dortmund and Barcelona, we are looking forward to playing on these stadiums. Each of those clubs had won the Champions league, it’s the best invitations to watch the games. We were drawn together with absolute top in the group,” Houštecký added.

Škoda: We are strong enough to make it

“I have played many games on many beautiful stadiums, but none of them in the Champions League. It’s something special, something different. I am really looking forward to playing this game,” Slavia captain Milan Škoda said before the departure.

“I have been following summer transfers and where Lukaku will go, there have been many speculations. He left for Inter and I am glad we were drawn against them. He is a special player, very tall, strong guy, I am looking forward to playing against them, together with Sanchez for example,” Škoda continued.

“I am sure the manager has everything ready and he will now just pass all the info to us. I have been feeling real strength from the team lately and I cannot believe that the game would be somehow one-sided. I feel we are strong enough to make it,” Slavia captain concluded.
