Jan Bořil is the new captain

Defender Jan Bořil becomes new Slavia captain after Milan Škoda and Tomáš Souček left the club.

“It means a lot to me. There were great captains in Slavia before me, all of them big names, great personalities. I am glad I have the confidence of my teammates, but we were always solving everything as the team. And we will continue to do so. Slavia has never been just about one man,” Bořil said.

Jan Bořil joined Slavia from FK Mladá Boleslav three years ago, in January 2016 and started to 149 competitive games so far. This season the 29-year old full-back played all 8 games in UEFA Champions League (qualifiers and group stage) and scored two goals against CFR Cluj and FC Barcelona. Bořil also becamestable part of Czech national team with 5 caps in successful EURO 2020 qualifiers.

Forward Stanislav Tecl and centre-back Ondřej Kúdela became vice-captains as long-time captain Milan Škoda together with vice-captains Tomáš Souček and Josef Hušbauer left the club during winter break.

Winning Finish to a Golden Season. Champions Defeat Plzeň

Wearing a special set of charity kits, Slavia Prague defeated Viktoria Plzeň 3–0 in the final match of the season. The champions opened the scoring with quick-fire goals from Chaloupek and Suleiman, before Chytil added a penalty before half-time. The celebrations could then begin in Eden with the “Garden Party for a Good Cause.”

Defeat in Hradec. Debutant Kohout Scores Slavia’s Only Goal

The Chance Liga champions suffered a 3–1 defeat away to Hradec Králové in the penultimate round of the season. The Votroci remained the only team Slavia failed to beat this season. Slavia’s only goal came late on through debutant Dan Kohout.

CHAMPIONS 23. Victory over Jablonec Secures Back-to-Back Titles

Slavia Prague defeated Jablonec 5–1 in the third round of the championship group and secured the league title. The goals that sealed the successful defence of last year’s triumph came from Štěpán Chaloupek, who scored twice, Samuel Isife, Mojmír Chytil and Tomáš Holeš. The visitors’ only reply came through Sobol. It is the 23rd league title in the club’s history. CONGRATULATIONS. THANK YOU!
