Eduard Sobol coming on loan from Shakhtar

PRAGUE – Ukrainian left-back Eduard Sobol is coming to Slavia on 1-year loan from Shakhtar Donetsk. 22-year-old Sobol, who has four caps for Ukrainian senior national team, spent the last season on loan in Zorya Luhansk.
“I am looking forward to seeing the full stadium. I have been told by other players that the fans can create a stunning atmosphere. I would like to have first-hand experience of such an atmosphere. But I also want to say that I’ve come here to help the team, to make good results, to win the league and to qualify for the Champions League,” Sobol said upon his arrival to Prague.

“It is better for me to have players in the cabin who can speak Russian. I came to the new country, of course there is a language barrier. With Ruslan Rotaò in the squad it would be easier for me to acclimatize myself to the new conditions,” continued Ukrainian left-back who is also able to play left-midfield.

Why did Sobol decided to come to Slavia? “I have spent three previous loans in Ukraine. And there is no secret that the Ukrainian league is on the downgrade. It is not on the level it used to be. I wanted to try my strengths in Europe and I am glad for the opportunity in Slavia. It is very strong team where I can develop more,” Sobol concluded.

Eduard Oleksandrovych Sobol was born on 20th April 1995 and began his youth career in Metalurh Zaporizhia. He made his senior debut for Metalurh in 2011 in second Ukrainian league. Two years later he signed for one of the best Ukrainian clubs Shakhtar Donetsk, spending the following seasons on loan in Metalurh Donetsk, Metalist Kharkiv and Zorya Luhansk. With Zorya he also qualified for the group stage of UEFA Europa League.

Sobol has been playing regularly for Ukrainian youth national teams and has been already named in the senior national squad four times.
