Štěpán Chaloupek transfers to Slavia

Twenty-year-old centre-back Štěpán Chaloupek is moving from Teplice to Slavia. He signed a four-year contract at Eden, effective from June 30, 2024. The youth national team player will spend the spring part of the season in FK Teplice.

"At the age of twenty, Štěpán is a pillar of the starting lineup for the top-tier team and the U21 national team. He has been on our radar for a long time. We were impressed by his immense strength, dominance in aerial duels, and, considering his young age, great game maturity. He will spend the spring part of the season still on loan at Teplice, and I believe that he will return to our team for the summer preparation as a more experienced player, fully developing his football potential," says Slaviaīs sporting director, Jiří Bílek.

"I am glad that the transfer has been successfully completed, and I have connected my future with Slavia. I believe it will be a successful journey. I really like the project set up at the club. Coach Trpišovský personally called me, congratulated me. I played twice here at Eden, once in front of a sold-out stadium. I know how passionate the fans are. I am looking forward to experiencing it firsthand," adds Slaviaīs January reinforcement. You can read Štěpánīs first impressions in an exclusive interview.

Štěpán Chaloupek started his football career in his hometown of Meziboří, from where he moved to Teplice. He made his way to the A-team in August 2021 and had his debut a month later in a home cup match against Třinec. He first entered the top league in November of the same year, making his first start at Letná against Sparta.

In the following season, he gradually became a key member of the lineup under coach Frťala. His performances earned him a spot in the U21 national team, where he made a total of four starts, three of them in the European Championship qualification.

The 190-centimeter-tall centre-back played a total of 46 matches in the Czech top division and scored one goal on November 25 against Bohemians. In the current league season, he accumulated 1,609 minutes on the field, ranking him ninth overall.

He excels in personal duels, aerial play, and constructive ball distribution, benefiting both the midfield and attacking lines.

Welcome to Slavia, Štěpán!
