Ballon d’or in Slavia Museum

Ballon d’or for Pavel Nedvěd is one of the most valuable artefacts on current Czech-Brazil exhibition in Slavia Museum.
Have a look at unique video of the transfer of the Golden Ball from Torino to Prague. Slavia have agreed on loan of the trophy from Juventus for the Czech-Brazil exhibition in Slavia Museum. The Czech national team will play friendly with Brazil on Tuesday 26 March in Sinobo Stadium and the exhibition will remain open till 31 March.

The trophy travelled to Prague in special safety case in a car equipped with tracking device together with Slavia Museum staff and security guards. Pavel Nedvěd – Juventus vice-president and former Czech national team captain – handed the Ballon d’or over to Jiří Bílek. Former Slavia captain is now member of board of the club.

The exhibition displays many trophies, shirts and other artefacts commemorating games between Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia) and Brazil. Except of Nedvěd’s Ballon d’or from 2003, there is another Golden Ball for Josef Masopust from 1962. In 1962 Czechoslovakia ended as runners-up on World Cup in Chile, losing 1-3 to Brazil in the final.

The Czech-Brazil exhibition in Slavia Museum will be open till Sunday 31 March. Tickets can be purchased online via Ticketportal.cz.
