21st clean sheet for Slavia creates Czech record

Slavia played their 21st game with no conceded goal against Plzeň on Sunday and created Czech and Czechoslovak league record.

The red and whites managed to keep Viktoria Plzeň at bay as they drew 0-0 with the second team of the league table on Sunday. It was their 21st game with no conceded goal during 2019/20 league season (28 rounds have been played so far) which means all-time Czech and Czechoslovak record. No team has ever kept more clean sheets during single season. Slovan Bratislava (1969/70), Baník Ostrava (1980/81) and Sparta (1986/87 and 2009/10) all managed to keep 19 clean sheets.

Slavia goalkeeper Ondřej Kolář kept his 20th clean sheet of the league season and has now one more game with no conceded goal than Alexander Vencel from 1969/70 season and Jan Stejskal from 1986/87 season. There are two more games left in the regular season. Slavia will play away in Ostrava and home against Zlín.

Slavia haven’t conceded single goal in 4 games since the Czech league restart. The red and whites won 1-0 in both away games in Mladá Boleslav and Příbram, defeated Jablonec home 5-0 and drew 0-0 home with Plzeň.
