Ferencváros - Slavia
Goals: 44. Kačaraba (vl.), 50. Kharatin (pen.)
An own goal and a penalty decided the first leg against Ferencvaros. The hosts ran out 2-0 winners.
Manager Jindřich Trpišovsky has made several changes into the starting line-up in compare to the last league game in Teplice. Holeš and Masopust returned to the squad and Kuchta started up front.

Slavia started better and set the pace for most of the opening half. The Red-Whites, however, failed to create bigger chances. Nico Stanciu could open the score 29 minutes into the game, but his strong effort from sharp angle was blocked by Ferencvaros goalkeeper.

Three minutes later Bah passed the ball to Kuchta inside of the penalty area, but our forward missed the opportunity to shoot and his effort a second later was blocked by one of the defenders.

One minute before the break a howler by Slavia goalkeeper gifted Ferencvaros a half-time lead. After a long pass Taras Kacharaba passed the ball back to his own goalkeeper, the ball jumped over a loose piece of turf and ended in the net.

The second half started with another blow for Slavia. In the 50th minute Taras Kacharaba hit Uzuni’s ankle inside of the box and the referee after few seconds of hesitation blew for a penalty. Igor Kharatin converted the spot-kick when Kolář could not reach his shot into the bottom left corner.

Only two minutes later Nguen could add third for Ferencvaros after another mistake in Slavia build-up, but Kolář showed his skill and blocked the low effort with his left foot.

With a two-goal lead the home side focused on defence and did not allow Slavia into any opportunity for almost 20 minutes. At minute 69 Traoré passed the ball to Schranz, who came on the pitch earlier with Musa – but his cross-shot was blocked by goalkeeper Dibusz.

After 77 minutes Slavia were close to their first goal when Bah’s shot from the edge of the box was deflected by one of the defenders, but the ball only hit the left post.

Slavia improved their performance in the last 15 minutes and put the home side under pressure but could not create any bigger chance. The Red-Whites thus lost 0-2 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round. The second game will be played on Tuesday, 10 August, at Eden.
