Ostrava - Slavia
Goals: 69. Stanciu
Stanciu’s penalty secured Slavia a narrow 1-0 away win against Baník Ostrava.
Tomáš Holeš started as right-back replacing Vladimír Coufal who left for West Ham earlier this week. Ladislav Takács played as defensive midfielder from the opening minutes and Petar Musa started as a lone striker.

Baník got into the opening chance just two minutes into the game, but Tijani’s effort was blocked by Slavia defence. After 18 minutes Slavia recorded their first opportunity, but Stanciu’s effort was deflected and missed the post behind Laštůvka.

Few chances were created in a tough opening half. In 26th minute Zima almost scored into his own net, but his header after Baník cross hit the woodwork, Kolář then punched the ball away to De Azevedo and his rebound missed the post.

Ten minutes later Kolář blocked another dangerous effort by De Azevedo and the Slavia goalkeeper had to make several other good saves to keep his team afloat.

Slavia made 2 changes into the second half and Tecl together with Ševčík appeared on the pitch. And after Ševčík’s free kick and Tecl’s header Musa hit the woodwork on the far post in 48th minute. Just two minutes later Svozil could take the lead for Baník but missed the open goal in what was probably biggest chance for the hosts.

After 65 minutes Slavia broke the deadlock thanks to a penalty. Laštůvka brought down Tecl inside the box and Nicolae Stanciu converted from the spot.

But the game was far from over. In 75th minute Kolář had to block a firm shot by Kuzmanović with another great save, in the added time Tecl could go alone on Laštůvka on the other side, but Ostrava goalkeeper deflected his effort outside of is goal.

Slavia thus return from Ostrava with hard-fought three points after a narrow 1-0 win against Baník.
