Č. Budějovice - Slavia
Goals: 68. Adediran
Slavia lost 0-1 against Dynamo České Budějovice away from home. Adediran was the match-winner for the home club.
  • First defeat after 10-game streak.

  • First loss against České Budějovice since 2007.

  • One point ahead of Plzeň before the mutual game next week.

Dynamo recorded zero shots and zero corners in the first half, so it was Slavia had the only bigger opportunity of the opening 45 minutes. With 10 minutes on the clock Zafeiris sent a dangerous cross from the right side into the box and Králik almost deflected the ball into his own net when the ball missed the right post by centimetres.

After the uneventful first period Ševčík and van Buren came on the pitch to reinforce Slavia attack. The second one could break the deadlock less than one minute into the game but could not reach Olayinka’s pass in front of an open net.

The Red-Whites started the second half better and in the 53rd minute van Buren’s through pass got to Olainka, his low effort was, however, kicked out by the home goalkeeper.

However, in the 68th minute, Jakub Hora set up Quadri Adediran with a long ball from his own half, Budějovice Forward outrun Ousou and sent the ball into the net with a little help of the right post from the edge of the box.

Dynamo took lead, Slavia threw all into the attack and the home team could threaten with counter-attack into an open defence. Four minutes after the goal Hellebrand fired from outside the box and Kolář managed to catch the ball only at the second attempt.

In the 75th minute after another cross from the right wing the ball rebounded several time in front of Kolář and our goalkeeper had to perform a superb save to block Zajíc’s deflected shot from under the crossbar.

Slavia, however, failed to create chances to equalize and lost their first league game from 9 October 2022. The Red-Whites remain one point ahead of Viktoria Plzeň on top of the league table before the mutual game at Fortuna Arena next week.
