Slavia defeated Sparta 2-0 at home to extend their unbeaten run in the Derby to 13 games!
Jindřich Trpišovský made 4 changes into the starting line-up in compare to the last game at Arsenal. Kuchta started as a lone striker with Lingr on the left wing as both Olayinka and Sima were missing due to health problems. In the defence Taras Kacharaba started as centre-back and Lukáš Masopust

Sparta got into the first chance of the game after 5 minutes when Vitík headed the ball on the far post following a corner, but he missed from a sharp angle. Only a minute later Adam Hložek appeared in even bigger opportunity after a through pass by Hancko, but Kolář managed to kick his low effort out.

Adam Hložek had another opportunity after 11 minutes when he managed to deflect a low cross by Plavšić, but the ball missed jumped next to the right post. A minute later first chance could be recorded on the other side, but Stanciu missed close from the edge of the box.

In the 25th minute Kolář showed another great save against a long-range effort by Dočkal and Hancko was getting into another opportunity in front of Kolář, but his solo action was interrupted by a foul on Holeš. On the other side Masopust could fire after a counter-attack, but Čelůstka blocked his low effort.

The first goal of the game arrived at the end of the first half, and it was Tomáš Holeš who gave Slavia lead. Jan Kuchta won the ball with his high pressing, Stanciu set up Holeš on the edge of the box and our midfielder sent a beautiful curler beyond Nita.

In the opening half it was Sparta who set the pace for most of the time, but after the break the pattern of the play changed, Slavia grew into the game and dominated the match.

After an hour of the game Three Slavia players could progress on Nita in a quick counter-attack, but Kuchta’s effort was blocked by one of the returning defenders. In the 68th minute Bořil let the ball for Lingr in Sparta box and Nita had to pull out a great save to block his effort.

Slavia were dangerous after the set pieces too. In the 75th minute Kacharaba outjumped Sparta defence after a corner but sent his header over the crossbar.

But the Red-whites did double their lead anyway. After 80 minutes Stanislav Tecl, who came on the pitch 12 minutes earlier, managed to keep the ball against two Sparta defenders, turned around Sáček and fired the ball under the crossbar with his left foot.

Slavia did not allow the away team virtually into any chance after the break, won the Derby 2-0 and keep their title charge on track with 17-point cushion before second Sparta (who played two games less).

Slavia haven’t lost 13 Prague Derbys in a row and they are currently 38 games unbeaten in the Czech league.
