We are Slavia, we never give up

Abdallah Sima made an assist to the only goal of the home game against Ferencvaros. "We gave our best effort," he said after the game.

With 16 minutes on the clock Abdallah Sima came on the pitch against Ferencvaros replacing injured Peter Olayinka. It was only second start for Sima this season after his injury, but he played a key role in the only goal of the game. After 36 minutes he went past a defender on the left wing and set up Lukáš Masopust in front of an open goal.

However, Slavia failed to double their lead which would secure them at least the extra-time and the Red-Whites were thus eliminated from the Champions League. They will continu with the Europa League play-off against Legia Warsaw in the following two weeks.

On the result

“It is very hard. We wanted not only to win, but also to qualify for the next round. But we only scored one goal. It is very hard for us and for the fans too. We gave our best effort.”

On his return after injury

“I am ready for the team. I did not play in the last game, but I was ready now. I am happy I could play. I hope it will continue like this and that I will get a chance to give my best for the team.”

On the atmosphere at Eden

“For me, it was maybe for the second time since I joined Slavia to see a full stadium like this. I am really happy, it was incredible to see so many fans at the stadium.”

On the Europa League play-off

We will focus for the next game. We are Slavia, we never give up. We will work hard, and we will do our best to qualify.”
