One of the key players of 2018/19 season and Derby-hero Tomáš Souček looks back after the final league game.
How did you manage to celebrate the title a week ago and still win the Czech Cup and last derby against Sparta?“I was quite surprised by the professional level we have! (laugh) We came from one game to another the whole season. And now we can finally fully celebrate.”
Can you compare the 2017 and 2019 titles?
“I was here only half of the 2016/17 season, so it was a half-title for me. From this reason I value the current one more. And because we deserved to win it too. We dominated the league.”
What was the hardest moment? The loss in Plzeň?
“Every defeat is bugging us, but it also belongs to football. On the other hand, after each bad game we had series of good ones and it kept us in front.”
You scored 5 goals against Sparta in just 4 games, which one was the most important?
“Every goal against Sparta is extremely valuable for me. Every goal in Prague Derby counts at least for three.”
What about emotions after the final whistle?
“Eurphoria, nothing else. We managed to beat Sparta and we crowned our fairy-tale season.”
