Third Cup triumph in four years

Slavia won the MOL Cup three times from last four seasons. Let’s review all the cup wins.

2017/18 | Start of the Trpišovský Era

Less than 5 months after joining Slavia, Jindřich Trpšovský and his coaching staff could celebrate their first trophy. Their position was not easy. In the middle of 2017/18 season, they replaced Jaroslav Šilhavý who managed to win the 2016/17 Czech league with Slavia and secured the first trophy for the Red and Whites after 8 years.

Stanislav Tecl scored two and Miroslav Stoch added third to secure 3-1 win over FK Jablonec in the Mol Cup final. Slavia could lift the Czech FA Cup after long 16 years.

Slavia 5-1 FK Fotbal Třinec

FC Vysočina Jihlava 1-3 Slavia

Slavia 2-0 FC Slovan Liberec

Slavia 2-0 FK Mladá Boleslav

Slavia 3-1 FK Jablonec

2018/19 | Double after 77 years

Few days after Slavia secured their 19th league title the Red and Whites travelled to Olomouc to take on Baník Ostrava in the MOL Cup final. Tomáš Souček opened the score from the spot 36 minutes into the game and Lukáš Masopust doubled our lead late on in the second half. Slavia have defended the MOL Cup. The Red-Whites have conceded only one goal during the entire MOL Cup campaign, scoring 15 in 5 games.

Slavia won their first Czech Double since 1942. The first complete season under the new manager Trpišovský was nicknamed “The Total Season” as the Red-Whites impressed not only at home, but also in the UEFA Europa League reaching the quarter-finals and narrowly loosing to future winners Chelsea FC.

Slavia 2-0 FK Ústí and Labem

Slavia 3-1 MFK Chrudim

Slavia 5-0 MFK Karviná

Slavia 3-0 AC Sparta Praha

FC Baník Ostrava 0-2 Slavia

2020/21 | Double No. 2

In 2019/20 Slavia won their 20th Czech title, however, they were eliminated by Baník Ostrava in the MOL Cup Round of 16 and failed to qualify into the spring part from the UEFA Champions League Group Stage. They had to wait for the next season to repeat the Czech Double.

The 2020/21 season seems to be kind of a copy of the 2018/19. The Red-Whites have progressed to the UEFA Europa League Quarter-finals again eliminating Leicester City and Rangers FC in the knockout stage. They were eliminated by a London club again, this time Arsenal FC.

Slavia have also secured their 21st Czech title (third in a row) with 4 games left and crowned their successful MOL Cup campaign (including a record-breaking 10-3 win over Slavia Karlovy Vary) with the 1-0 final win over Viktoria Plzeň on their own ground. Slavia have scored 21 goals in 5 MOL Cup games making it more than 4 goals per game on average.

Slavia 4-1 FK Dukla Praha

Slavia 10-3 FC Slavia Karlovy Vary

SK Sigma Olomouc 0-3 Slavia

AC Sparta Praha 0-3 Slavia

FC Viktoria Plzeň 0-1 Slavia
