Slavia v Chelsea | Form Guide

Slavia take on Chelsea FC on Thursday in Europa League quarter-final. Have a look at the extensive form guide.
Chelsea currently sit on 3rd place in Premier League, 16 points behind Liverpool on top. “The Blues” have lost 1, drew 1 and won 3 of last 5 league games (2-0 home to West Ham, 3-0 home to Brighton, 1-2 away to Cardiff, 2-0 away to Everton, 1-1 home to Wolverhampton).

Chelsea rule in Europe

In Europa League Chelsea started directly in the group stage and won their group L with 16 points dropping only two points for away draw with Vidi FC. In Round of 32 they played against Malmö and won 2-1 away and 3-0 home. In Round of 16 Chelsea literally demolished Dynamo Kyiv after 3-0 home and 5-0 away victories.

Chelsea overall European score is rather impressive (25-4) and they are among teams that conceded the least goals in the competition. "The Blues" already won Europa League once in 2012/13 season.

Slavia on top of the Czech league

Slavia have better record in the Czech League as the red-whites won four times and drew only once against Liberec at home. Score from these five matches is impressive too (15-2, in compare to Chelsea 8-4). The Czechs also succeeded in the MOL Cup qualifying for the semi-final last week. Slavia currently lead the Czech League and sit on top 7 points ahead of Viktoria Plzeň.

A connecting link between Slavia and Chelsea is Slovak midfielder Miroslav Stoch who spent four years in Chelsea youth academy and made a handful of starts for the first team back in 2008/09 season.

The Blues come to Prague for the 5th time

Slavia played against four English teams in the past in UEFA Cup and Champions League (Leeds, Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa) but this is the first time they stand against Chelsea. On the other hand Chelsea come to Prague for the fifth time as they faced Viktoria Žižkov in Cup Winners Cup back in 1994 (the game itself was played in the city of Jablonec). Later "The Blues" played twice against Sparta in Champions League in 2003 and in Europa League in 2013.

For the last time they travelled to Prague as Europa League champions for 2013 UEFA Super Cup. The game against Bayern took place in Eden Arena in August 2013 and it was the only Chesea defeat in the Czech Republic.
