“Slavia Prague’s current squad are once again giving their passionate supporters a reason to believe,” says the new UEFA Europa League Magazine alluding to a spectacular 1995/96 UEFA Cup campaign when the red-whites reached the semi-final of the competition which remains the biggest success of modern club history.

Now, Slavia are on the verge of progressing from the Europa League group stage for the very first time with 7 points after 4 games and only one goal conceded. They can move even closer to the qualification on Thursday in Bordeaux. Against Girondis – the club that ended their UEFA Cup dreams 22 years ago.

“Every player dreams of playing in this competition, not many of us, or indeed any of us, have had the chance to compete at this level and get beyond the group stages in the Europa League,” Slavia defender Michael Ngadeu says in the Magazine.

“Our main goal is to qualify for the next stage. If we keep playing this way, I believe, we can go even further. To concede just one goal in all our matches is perfect for the fans and for the team. Our opponents haven’t created a lot of chances, they only had a few shots. So, we are very happy,” Czech international and raising League star Tomáš Souček added.
