”Right on time”

With his two goals he helped Slavia to come from behind in the game with Karviná. “I strongly believe this was just a start and that it will continue,” hero of the match Miroslav Stoch says.
The victory could be seen as a “lucky” one, but your performance was undoubtedly great.“Thank you. We have made a drama again. We have not converted our chances and then conceded two goals after a lost duel. This is something which worries us, but we have three points anyway and that counts. So we need to be satisfied.”
Right after the game Slavia is just four points behind Plzeň, What do you think about the league table?*
“We knew we play as a first so we wanted to put them under pressure. But we can say the same about the teams behind us, they want to reduce the point difference too, put pressure on us. It’s four points now and I think that the fight for a title could be interesting.”
Despite playing well, Slavia fans were still missing some goals from you. Thay came against Sparta and now against Karviná, so you must be satisfied now?
“No one needs to remind me. I was missing some goals myself the most. But now I am glad that I could help the team, finally I could score outside of the box. I am happy about that and I will try in the following games hoping that it will continue.”
Is that a great relief?
“Every player needs some goals and assists. And as I said, I had a good shot almost every game, but it never fits inside. I could score against Sparta which made me really happy, now I added two more and I will try in the next game again.”
Can you describe both goals? They could not be more different?
“First one was after a nice through pass from Jakub Hromada. Milan Škoda let the ball through between the legs and I was close to the goalkeeper. I faked a normal shot, the goalkeeper went down and I just lobbed the ball over him. The other shot I prepared and tried from behid the box. Finally some good effort, which was my mark through entire career. Here in Slavia it was not going smoothly so far and I have been waiting for it. I think it came right on time.”
Slavia were one goal down again, how difficult is coming from behind over and over?
“It is hard. But the very beginning was not bad from our side, we controlled the game, we had some chances. But then came that situation again, kick-off from the goalkeeper, prolonged ball and it causes us problems. We needed to come from behind again but I am glad we fought back. The team showed some character but we still make mistakes. Have we utilized all our chances we could win 4-1 or 5-1. It was a drama but thanks god for three points.”
* Plzeň played a 2-2 draw with Sparta on Sunday. Slavia is now 5 points behind the leader.
