I expect more demanding game than against Ferencvaros

Lukáš Masopust on the UEFA Europa League play-off and prospects of qualifying for the Group Stage.

On the first game against Legia

“It is an extremely important game for us. We failed to qualify for the Champions League, now we can fight for the Europa League where we were successful in the last seasons. We have reached the quarter-finals twice. It is a big motivation, we want to succeed again and reach the group stage. I believe we can do it.”

On Legia squad

“I expect the game to be more demanding than the one against Ferencvaros. We will need a lot of physical strength. Legia play with a different tactical line-up, but I believe it will suite us more. As we spoke to Tomáš Pekhart during the international break they have really fast wingers, their fitness numbers are great.”

On the pressure

“In Slavia we got used to the pressure before every single game. We want to win every game and I don’t feel more pressure than before any other. We know we must succeed in this tie.”

On the fast start of the season

“I must say it is not ideal. For me personally the very first game of the season was a competitive game. We are getting used to it. I have played with different teammates in the national team during EURO, now I am back home, and it is different again. We all could imagine to be better coordinated on the beginning of the new season which is very important for us. It is not an easy situation, but I believe that the team is improving. We are getting used to each other and reaching the level we had at the end of the last season.”
