I expect equal game, Boss says

Slavia will face FC Midtjylland in UEFA Champions League Play-off on Tuesday night. “We have been thinking about three names in our line-up,” manager says.

“It will be very equal game. Midtjylland are compact team, they might not have big stars in their squad, but they work hard. Except of Sisto, who has returned from Spain recently, the team has been together for a long time. They have minimum number of weaknesses and adopted similar style to ours. They prefer high pressing and totally deserved to win both previous qualification games. They do not concede. They play with two defensive midfielders which allows them to have six defensive players on the pitch. Their movement is great, their squad is young and strong on ball. We have played against Copenhagen and they were strong and aggressive. Midtjylland, on the other hand, adopted great quick-passing style,” says Slavia manager about our opponents for UCL play-off.

Midtjylland might have fewer European experience, but both teams have equal starting position according to Trpišovský. “Both teams are in equal position. Our opponent has purchased players for 2,5 million euro recently, they will make everything for the qualification. Every team would do the same one step from the Champions League. In Slavia we all realize how close the Champions League is, but Midtjylland know the same and they will prepare accordingly,” the Boss continues.

“The closer we are to the game, the more are we clear about the starting line-up. We have been discussing it for a long time and we have been considering three positions. On two of them there are typologically similar players who might play, the third one depends on the style of our opponent. They prefer high pressing and we have been thinking how to overcome it. We are now almost decided in terms of the starting eleven,” Trpišovský concluded about Slavia squad.

The first game of UEFA Champions League Play-off will be played on Tuesday, 22 September, from 9 pm in Eden Arena. The match is broadcasted live on O2 TV Sport.
