Happy for my debut and for important points
The new reinforcement from Denmark played as right-back in its first game in red and white and helped the team to get three points against Sigma Olomouc. “It was a great game and we got important three points. I am happy for the victory and, of course, for my debut too. For the last half a year I played as right wing-back and it’s a bit similar to the position I played here. So, I am most comfortable with the wing-back and right-back positions,” Bah said after the game.
The Czech league is known to be tough for foreign players. Is it something the newcomer can confirm? “It’s a lot different from the Danish league, there are more duels here and it’s a bit more physical than I’m used to. But I think we did well, especially in the second half, and I am looking forward to learning and being better in the Czech league.”
And how is Alexander Bah getting used to the Czech environment just 11 days after his arrival? “Of course, there are some difficulties with the language, but I think football language is easy to understand and I’ve already learned most basic football words in Czech. So, I think this will be better and better and I am looking forward to improving even more.”
“I’m feeling good. The guys have taken good care of me and helped me a lot. So, I am glad to be here. I am talking a lot to Mick [van Buren] as he has been in the Danish league and knows the differences. Nico [Stanciu] is also good at English so he helped me a lot too,” adds the 23-year old Danish international about his relationship not only to Mick van Buren, who spent three years in Danish side Esbjerg.
From his position as a right-back, Bah was often seen in front supporting the offensive. Is it something which can suit him in his new club? “Slavia is really good in counter-attacks and fast up front. And so were S?nderjyskE. But of course, the level is higher here than I was used to. I decided to go to Slavia because the play here is based on a lot of power, a lot of running. The level of football is really high here, so I am sure I can improve here and be better footballer. I’ve heard the fans are also great here and there is nothing like that in Denmark. That’s also why I chose to come to Slavia. It’s a big club that wins a lot of trophies and I want to be part of that.”
