FORM GUIDE: Slavia v Nice

Slavia will take on OGC Nice in their third game of the Europa League campaign. How are both teams doing during the year 2020?

Slavia will face a club from the coast of the French Riviera, OGC Nice, in the third match of Group C in the European League. What is the current form of both teams in a very turbulent time, not only in the football world?

Ligue 1 was suspended in the spring due to the first wave of coronavirus, but unlike FORTUNA:LIGA, it did not restart. The situation was reversed in autumn. While the French league continues behind closed doors, the Czech league is still waiting for its renewal. In order to make the comparison of form at least partially meaningful, we compare all league matches in 2020.

Regarding the quality of both competitions, it is probably not surprising that the fifth team of last year´s Ligue 1 is worse than the Czech champions in the points per match statistic. Slavia´s points per game ratio is 0.52 higher than Nice´s. This is mainly due to frequent draws - out of 18 matches Nice drew seven and five of them ended 1-1. On the other hand, they lost only three times. They lost in the league in February with Nimes, when they played the second half with only ten men on the pitch, and also with strong PSG and Montpellier sides, when they were out of form at the beginning of September.

Red-whites also scored an average of 0.55 goals per match more and conceded 0.68 fewer goals than Nice. If we would try to find something similar between the two sides, it is the strikers. The most successful league finishers in both teams are young, tough finishers - in Slavia Petar Musa and in Nice Kasper Dolberg. Both scored 9 goals.
