Eden has now J. W. Madden Stand

PRAGUE/EDEN - Slavia together with Celtic FC honoured former player of the Celts and first ever Slavia manager before mutual friendly game on Tuesday. There is now Madden´s plaque on the walk of fame in front of the stadium and the main stand of Eden Arena was renamed J. W. Madden Stand.
Celtic manager Brendan Roggers spoke at the celebration before the Slavia v Celtic game together with Jaroslav Tvrdík, Chairman of Board of Slavia, and Czech, Scottish and Irish members of Madden´s family. Later they unveiled a commemorative plaque on Slavia walk of fame in front of the stadium and the main stand of Eden Arena was officially renamed "Tribuna J. W. Maddena" (J. W. Madden Stand).


J. W. Madden played Celtic’s first-ever match in 1888 as a forward and later went on to make 118 appearances and score 49 goals for the Scots. After retiring from active career, he became Slavia’s first-ever manager in 1905 and led the club into their golden age. He was in charge of the Red-and-Whites for 25 years and became spiritual father of Czech professional football.

Winning Finish to a Golden Season. Champions Defeat Plzeň

Wearing a special set of charity kits, Slavia Prague defeated Viktoria Plzeň 3–0 in the final match of the season. The champions opened the scoring with quick-fire goals from Chaloupek and Suleiman, before Chytil added a penalty before half-time. The celebrations could then begin in Eden with the “Garden Party for a Good Cause.”

Defeat in Hradec. Debutant Kohout Scores Slavia’s Only Goal

The Chance Liga champions suffered a 3–1 defeat away to Hradec Králové in the penultimate round of the season. The Votroci remained the only team Slavia failed to beat this season. Slavia’s only goal came late on through debutant Dan Kohout.

CHAMPIONS 23. Victory over Jablonec Secures Back-to-Back Titles

Slavia Prague defeated Jablonec 5–1 in the third round of the championship group and secured the league title. The goals that sealed the successful defence of last year’s triumph came from Štěpán Chaloupek, who scored twice, Samuel Isife, Mojmír Chytil and Tomáš Holeš. The visitors’ only reply came through Sobol. It is the 23rd league title in the club’s history. CONGRATULATIONS. THANK YOU!
