All my thoughts are with Ukraine

Taras Kacharaba led Slavia as a captain to the UECL game against Fenerbahce. The Red-Whites won, but the game was far from easy for the Ukrainian.

“It was the most difficult day of my life. For my family, for Ukraine, for all people living there. I am proud to be Ukrainian. I want to thank Slavia, the club management, and the fans for the support. I really appreciate it. It is difficult to say anything else.”

“Many lads in Ukraine are defending my country now. I am a footballer, here, in Slavia. On the pitch I wanted to show that I am a Ukrainian. I wanted to give my best to please my fans and Slavia fans somehow. For me, for all of us, this is the worst time that could come.”

“I have been reading news during all day. I concentrated on the game, but all my thoughts were with Ukraine and my family. I went on the pitch, and I tried to do my job. After the game I went home and kept contacting my family and other people in Ukraine.”
